Welcome!

Welcome to my interactive web site! I have been in the wedding industry for 27 years and have played at least 2500 weddings. This gives me a fascinating perspective, much of it poignant, memorable and hilarious.

Some weddings are unusual, such as transgender, same sex, cult, nudist or on horseback. I've played a Lord of the Rings wedding that was conducted in Elvish. Some are lavish and others are fleeting, such as one where a communist defector married at the airport. Some have been interrupted by accident (bride fell and broke leg on step to altar), one came to her wedding in an ambulance escorted by a nurse holding her IV. The tragic ones involved alcohol.

Did you know playing at the Columbia Tower Club involves 48 elevator rides to set up and break down? And there is a wonderful tunnel system under the streets to get from the load zone to inside the Fairmont Hotel in Seattle.

My harp has a $50,000 replacement value with over $10,000 of 23 kt. gold leaf. It is very delicate, yet I move it myself, often many times a day. I have a unique profession, a unique place in the community and a unique perspective to share. I would like to be enriched by hearing from you as well!

St. Bridget's Day-Elaine's Birthday 2/2/11

We celebrated Elaine's very special 54th birthday yesterday with the Celtic Harp.  Elaine's family is from Ireland and she wanted to hear her favorite Irish ballads.  Her family hosted an amazing luncheon...steak, salmon, fresh lobster (cringe), boiled right there, asparagus...cheesecake and lots of love.  Even I thought the lobster was delicious!

St. Anne's Catholic Church-Jan. 28, 2011

Reason enough for a winter wedding...look at these darling flower girls with their matching winter capes and muffs! Margaret Olsen accompanied the harp with the violin and reknowned soprano Pamela Cassela sang Ave Maria.  Betty, your dress was so chic...only you could have pulled off that retro Jackie Kennedy look with such panache!! A very lovely winter's eve wedding.

Sharon Serrano at St. Pius X, Mountlake Terrace

Sharon, it's hard to believe that I met you only last week at the Seattle Wedding Show.  Today I played harp at your beautiful Catholic ceremony at St. Pius X, with canters Gabriella and Miguel. While the service was in Spanish, it was easy to follow the sacred meaning as Father Jose performed your wedding Mass. During the Sign of Peace your family and friends really shared your joy and tenderness!  So many hugs and embraces and tears! This was a celebration of love felt by all who were lucky to be a part of your special day!
