Words failed express the shock and dispair at this very sad "celebration of a life cut short." Only 30 year of experience could have held me together to play my heart out to this family and community. A young man died tragically at age 38, leaving a loving family and young son. As we awaited the priest from Argentina to arrive, I felt I had the congregation balanced in my hands as I tried to shape each note to address the depths of feeling in the room. I hoped my music could momentarily suspend reality and allow something of beauty to wash over them and bring whatever peace was possible in the moment. The gift of the harp...to heal and suspend tragedy for even a few moments. This was a very sad affair and I wish with all my heart for this family to find solace and eventually beauty and light in the life of this wonderful young man in their time of grieving.
