Welcome!

Welcome to my interactive web site! I have been in the wedding industry for 27 years and have played at least 2500 weddings. This gives me a fascinating perspective, much of it poignant, memorable and hilarious.

Some weddings are unusual, such as transgender, same sex, cult, nudist or on horseback. I've played a Lord of the Rings wedding that was conducted in Elvish. Some are lavish and others are fleeting, such as one where a communist defector married at the airport. Some have been interrupted by accident (bride fell and broke leg on step to altar), one came to her wedding in an ambulance escorted by a nurse holding her IV. The tragic ones involved alcohol.

Did you know playing at the Columbia Tower Club involves 48 elevator rides to set up and break down? And there is a wonderful tunnel system under the streets to get from the load zone to inside the Fairmont Hotel in Seattle.

My harp has a $50,000 replacement value with over $10,000 of 23 kt. gold leaf. It is very delicate, yet I move it myself, often many times a day. I have a unique profession, a unique place in the community and a unique perspective to share. I would like to be enriched by hearing from you as well!

Black Tie Dinner at Chateau at Bothell Landing-4/21/15

The evening was delightful and the residents had such glowing compliments about you, your harp, and your playing. Elegant was the word I heard over and over.

Beautiful wedding of Janine Horuk at Januik Winery

Dear Susan,

Thank you for making our wedding even more special!
Your presence added elegance to create the perfect, joyful ambiance. I have received so many compliments that the music was beautiful and tasteful--not too much, nor too little, just right! Thank you for playing some of the more modern songs I requested and for switching gear so quickly when my brother started sprinting down the aisle with me :)
You helped create peace and love--truly a night to remember...

Thank you again,
Janine

Perfect wedding for Mi-Seon and Sung at Salish- 8-24-14

My lovely trio, Mariya on flute and Julio on violin performed with me at the gorgeous Centennial Green at the Salish Lodge.  Besides the pics of the beautiful mothers, I included the true "recessional," packing out!  We were helped by tourists from Israel who came to our aid.  Best wishes, Me-Seon and Sung.  It was lovely doing another wedding in the family!!

Jason and Ray!! OMG!! Union Station Aug. 2, 2014

Usually I shoot pictures on my phone of moments during the wedding, but when Jason and Ray walked in, and there was such a spontaneous burst of joy and people jumping to their feet transported by the moment, that I was completely caught up in the celebration.  To be so close to see Ray and Jason's faces as they stood together. I will never forget this wedding!!

It was a joy to work with everyone!  The only picture I got was this one here with an old friend, the clarinetist.  We had been housemates in the early 70's and our paths just hadn't crossed.  Yet we recognized each other!
An amazing event, and I'll get more pictures soon!!

Courtney and Scott at Salish Lodge-July 18, 2014

Beautiful wedding at the Centennial Lawn at Salish Lodge.  Courtney and Scott did their own hilarious take on the standard Corinthians "Love is Patient, Love is Kind."  It had everyone in stitches and added the unique sparkle that brought the personalities of the bride and groom to the fore.  I loved being a part of it!
